Chondroitin Sulfate Rhodamine

Chondroitin Sulfate Rhodamine

Description

Chondroitin Sulfate Rhodamine is a fluorescently labeled polysaccharide. Chondroitin Sulfate is labeled with rhodamine via stable amide bond, Ex/Em wavelength 552/575 nm. Purity: >95% powder. Degree of substitution: 1 mol % substitution and at least one dye molecule per polymer. CS labeled with other types of rhodamine dyes such as Texas Red, Sulforhodamine 101 may be offered through our custom synthesis.

Properties

Chondroitin sulfate chains are unbranched  polysaccharides containing two alternating monosaccharides:  D-glucuronic acid  (GlcA) and  N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (GalNAc).  Chondroitin sulfate from terrestrial animals is almost exclusively composed of non-sulfated (O) and monosulfated (A and C) units, while in marine species the proportion of disulfated (D and E) units is higher. Chondroitin sulfate A is sulfated at carbon 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) sugar, also called chondroitin-4-sulfate

Chondroitin sulfate is highly  soluble  in  water.
