Description
Chondroitin Sulfate Fluorescein is a fluorescently labeled polysaccharide polymer. Chondroitin Sulfate is labeled with fluorescein (FITC), Ex/Em wavelength 494/518 nm. Purity: >95% powder. Degree of substitution: 1 mol % substitution and at least one dye molecule per polymer. Chondroitin sulfate with other fluorescent dyes or biomolecular probes may be offered through custom synthesis.
Properties
Chondroitin sulfate chains are unbranched  polysaccharides containing two alternating monosaccharides:  D-glucuronic acid  (GlcA) and  N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (GalNAc).  Chondroitin sulfate from terrestrial animals is almost exclusively composed of non-sulfated (O) and monosulfated (A and C) units, while in marine species the proportion of disulfated (D and E) units is higher. Chondroitin sulfate A is sulfated at carbon 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) sugar, also called chondroitin-4-sulfate Â
Chondroitin sulfate is highly  soluble  in  water.
