Description
High purity Chondroitin Sulfate has carboxylic acid groups for bioconjugation using amide coupling reaction with primary amine. Our chondroitin sulfate is extracted from animal source by protease degradation. Chondroitin Sulfate is a mixture of types A, D, C and E, unless indicated otherwise.
Properties
Chondroitin sulfate chains are unbranched  polysaccharides containing two alternating monosaccharides:  D-glucuronic acid  (GlcA) and  N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (GalNAc).  Chondroitin sulfate from terrestrial animals is almost exclusively composed of non-sulfated (O) and monosulfated (A and C) units, while in marine species the proportion of disulfated (D and E) units is higher. Chondroitin sulfate A is sulfated at carbon 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) sugar, also called chondroitin-4-sulfate Â
Chondroitin sulfate is highly  soluble  in  water.
