Description
Chondroitin Sulfate is labeled with both biotin and fluorescein, Ex/Em wavelength 494/518 nm. Purity: >95% lyophilized powder. Standard degree of substitution: 1 mol % substitution for each dye and at least one biotin and one fluorescein molecule per polymer. Chondroitin sulfate with other fluorescent dyes or biomolecular probes or at different labeling ratios may be offered through custom synthesis.
Properties
Chondroitin sulfate chains are unbranched polysaccharides containing two alternating monosaccharides: D-glucuronic acid (GlcA) and N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (GalNAc). Chondroitin sulfate from terrestrial animals is almost exclusively composed of non-sulfated (O) and monosulfated (A and C) units, while in marine species the proportion of disulfated (D and E) units is higher. Chondroitin sulfate A is sulfated at carbon 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) sugar, also called chondroitin-4-sulfate
Chondroitin sulfate is highly soluble in water.
